Consider digital safety before making changes

Account and device changes need context when someone may be monitoring you.

Technology can be part of a wider pattern

If someone may monitor your device or accounts, seek specialist advice about safe ways to access help. Suddenly changing settings may alert them.

A careful first step

Consider whether you have access to a device the person cannot monitor before researching a plan. Do not assume private browsing removes every trace.

Use specialist guidance

The eSafety Commissioner provides a checklist for technology-facilitated abuse. Read it in a way that fits your circumstances, with support where possible. This lesson does not ask you to reset accounts, remove tracking or confront someone.

Keep the responsibility clear. These options cannot guarantee safety. Responsibility for violence belongs to the perpetrator. Choose what fits your circumstances.
