Ask what physical training actually covers
Choose teaching that explains its scope and makes participation your choice.
Ask before joining
What situations does the training cover? What relevant qualifications does the instructor hold? How are consent, accessibility and injuries handled? Can you watch, pause or opt out?
Look for responsible limits
A teacher should explain what a short course cannot establish. Ask how skills are practised over time and whether physical contact is explained before you agree.
A useful distinction
Sport, exercise and personal protection can overlap, but have different goals. Ask what the course actually teaches rather than relying on a belt, brand or dramatic video.
