Be clear about the purpose

A personal-safety class should help you consider reducing harm and reaching support. It should not require you to prove you can defeat someone.

A question for the instructor

How does this exercise help a participant create an opportunity to disengage? What limitations apply if the person is injured, tired or unable to move in the demonstrated way?

Reflect

You can value physical learning without treating it as a guarantee. Decisions depend on circumstances; no technique is a universal answer. Avoid attempting strikes, restraint escapes or weapon drills from this written resource.

Keep the responsibility clear. These options cannot guarantee safety. Responsibility for violence belongs to the perpetrator. Choose what fits your circumstances.
